Liberty Starts Locally

The Capitol Area Libertarians (CAL) is the local affiliate of the Libertarian Party serving the vibrant communities of South Central Wisconsin. From the halls of the State Capitol to the rolling hills of the Driftless Area, we are a grassroots organization dedicated to a simple but profound idea: that you are the best person to decide how to live your own life. The Capitol Area Libertarian Party region affiliate covers Dane, Rock, Green, Iowa, Sauk and Jefferson counties.

What We Do

The Capitol Area Libertarians serve as a hub for political activism, community building, and candidate support in the region. We focus our efforts on:

1. Local Governance: Challenging the status quo in city councils and county boards to ensure your tax dollars are respected and your freedoms are protected.

2. Community Outreach: Hosting monthly meetups, educational events, and social gatherings where like-minded Wisconsinites can connect.

3. Candidate Development: Identifying and supporting principled Libertarian candidates to give voters a real choice on the ballot.
